Herman Miller Eames Fiberglass Shell Dining Chair

The chair was designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950 and produced by Herman Miller in the U.S. around 1960. Its shell seat is a fiberglass mold, reinforced with polyester resin, mounted on a steel X‑base with wood dowel legs. This fiberglass construction was part of the Eames’ broader “plastic chairs” series, which used Zenaloy — a polyester reinforced with fiberglass.
